In a city that is full of innovation and new advancements, there seems to be a surplus of spaces that appear abandoned and dilapidated. After exploring the streets, I wanted to emphasize the lonely decline of these spaces. I found the strongest way to do this was by using photography to document how these spaces were stripped of their innocence. The addition of a child’s bear to these forgotten areas created an unexpected dichotomy which allowed the viewer to experience the feeling of abandonment. I believe by documenting these run-down places with the integration of the bear, I could express a sensation of innocence being lost.
