These posters are stylistically related on a single-column grid. The M of the typeface compliments Scream since it looks like a knife slashing down. The subheading typeface is gory, but still legible. My color palate suggests a slasher/horror genre, which is perfect for Scream.
All graphics were designed by me via Adobe Illustrator. |
Poster OneI chose to demonstrate the killer face on, taunting those who look at the poster with his knife. At first, the mask should immediately remind the viewers of the popular Scream movie franchise, which should draw their attention in.
|
Poster TwoI chose to represent a bloody severed hand because it creates suspense and intrigues the viewer. In the show, the hand is from a teacher who is suspected as the killer. However, the teacher’s hand was cut off by the killer, proving his innocence. The hand is significant because the teacher was sleeping with his students and was a little too “handsy” with them.
|
Poster ThreeI chose to depict the killer with his disguise falling off so the viewer could differentiate between the surgical mask in the Scream TV series and the mask in the Scream movie series. Not only does the pose of the killer create a fear response, but it also creates a sense of curiosity for the viewer.
